On the 20th of February, 2017 Profi.Travel company conducted the first roundtable discussion with the participation of representatives of NTOs of the leading tourist destinations, Russian tour operators as well as experienced marketing specialists. The roundtable discussion was carried as part of Online Travel Mart: Summer 2017 - international online fair for the Russian-speaking audience of travel professionals. The participants discussed working strategies of destination promotion on the Russian-speaking tourism market.
Russian tourist is still one of the most desired one in the world. After recent decline of tourist flow from Russia, many countries are witnessing the gradual reappearance of Russian citizens. In this context, the effective promotion of foreign destinations becomes essential for every country interested in Russian market. In anticipation of the new season, national tourism offices are noticeably increasing their activity on the Russian market using diverse marketing instruments – from charter funding and hotel discounts to ambitious advertising campaigns for final consumers. But which mechanisms exactly will bring the desired effect?
